Today around 1:45pm at Comic Con in San Diego (refrain from Ron Burgundy joke, refrain) Ubisoft is going to lead up a panel discussion entitled “Assassin’s Creed II: Video Games and Hollywood Converge.” While this doesn’t mean too much to us or most of you, mostly because we’re not in San Diego and don’t have Comic Con passes, it does bring up some interesting thoughts. The panel discussion will be about the evolution of entertainment creation and distribution while touching on the bridge that is being built between video games and film. Panel hosts include Yannis Mallat, CEO at Ubisoft Montreal and Pierre Raymond, founder and CEO of Hybride Technologies, the visual effects studio behind 300 and Sin City. At E3 Ubisoft announced that Hybride Tech was working on a series of short films for AC II which during this panel discussion they will preview a teaser trailer of production and development shots from filming. They will also have a first public demo of AC II.
