Mr. Schilling you may have the Boston sports fan’s heart, including mine, but the less sports interested video gaming fans you do not. Go ahead, move your studio to RI under some hostage state takeover deal see if we care. Seems MA didn’t take kindly to loosing to a state that hosts our AHL team. So they’re proposing to widen the tax break incentives for studios in a 5 yr plan to expand the $2 billion game industry to $20 billion. Details have not been completed but include tax breaks based on how many jobs and money a studio can make. Other incentives could include breaks for startups and companies that relocate to MA. All in all this sounds great for MA and the gaming industry that is slowly growing here. Toss in PAX East and we have our selves a nice little…something. Check out more details at develop.
