The Toledo Walleye hosted an ‘8-bit Night’ on November 21st that had everything from 8-bit jerseys to a theme song. The Walleye hosted the Fort Wayne Komets in some sweet 8-bit jerseys as seen below. In the end it was all for a good cause as the jerseys were auctioned off with proceeds going to Adopt America Network, Alzheimer’s Association NW Ohio Chapter and the Walleye Wishing Well, a local Toledo charity. They even had an 8-bit theme song – which is a little less chiptune then expected but chiptune probably isn’t the best way to amp up a hockey crowd.

If you’re unfamiliar with your minor league and semi-pro hockey leagues, that’s ok. The Toledo Walleye are an ECHL team and an affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. Not sure you can get your hands on the sweet jerseys but you can still get some 8-bit Toledo Walleye fanwear…and/or you know…donate to a good cause anytime.
