[Extra Bits] Nike and EA build the ultimate soccer boot

In celebration of the 24th anniversary of EA’s FIFA (you’d think they’d do this at 25 not 24?) the company partnered with Nike to create the ugliest most ostentatious 16-bit cleat, boot, soccer shoe out there. EA has been releasing FIFA games since 1994 which is quite the milestone. I’m not a big football soccer fan but the games are quite enjoyable. Especially while having a few pints with friends and playing a match the old fashion way – with everyone in the same room. The shoe, sneaker, the EA Sports x Nike Mercurial boot pictured above, was released last week via the Nike Football App and Nike website. Of course, only 1500 pairs are available so reading this now may not help. Sorry. But, wait there’s more, you can also get a pair by reaching level seven in the EA Sports Football Club Catalog in FIFA 17. So there’s still hope, but I also have no idea how difficult that is. So there may not be. [via Engadget | source: Nike]
